Hot water=no striper action?

Just wanted to hear some thoughts about the fishing up at lake arthur. I haven't been having to much luck finding the alewives or the stipers since the water temp is up so high. This must have something to do with it.

The funny part is that when we go up on the lake there isn't as many boats on the water as there used to be. It makes me think that all the guys who know the striper fishing at lake arthur know that the fish aren't there right now.

Let me know what you think...

Hey Lab, Good luck on Labor day...
I never tried Tiki Sticks, but I think I should give them a try cause it sounds like you did well with them. I am probably going up after all this rain from Katrina.

Thanks for taking the time to post, and let me know how you do on Labor Day.

So I went up on Saturday night looking for the stripers and .....nothing. No action, no boats...and no fish.

I am going back up on Sunday, the 11th. Gonna try to go early and catch the crappies. I'll let ya know.

Cabin fever is setting in. The Super Bowl is over. The reels are cleaned and oiled. The boat is vacuumed and battery charged. Let's fish. Stripers are in the bays feeding soon. Crappies will be spawning soon. I hate this time of year. Who watches the Pro Bowl anyway.
